How To Remain Grounded In The Midst Of Chaos

How To Remain Grounded In The Midst Of Chaos

Ok, so sh*t has officially hit the fan! Currently we are being bombarded with news, random conversations and the uncertainty of what’s next. It’s a different world than it was about a week ago. Stores are closed, people are quarantined, pop up testing sites are littering major cities & it seems as if there is no end in sight. How do I stay at an even keel when the world is losing their minds? The first thing is...calm down. The anxiety of it all, the frustration, the fear are all understandable. What you must also understand is...you worrying is NOT going the help you or anyone around you. Remaining calm, slows your circulatory and nervous systems, allowing you to think clearly and view things properly. You have the ability to create better or worse circumstances by your response to what is going on. The battlefield is in your mind.

After you cool your jets, try meditation even for just 5 mins of complete quiet is so beneficial to you mental health. Listening to binaural beats and calming music also can help you stay grounded. Prayer is also a great way to release your concerns to the Most High. Pray with an understanding that what you are concerned about, the Most High is concerned as well. You are protected. Let Go. Let God.

If it is an option: LOG OFF! Many times we are overwhelmed by social media and the news and it tends to reinforce our perceived fears. When you are already feeling anxious this can send you over the edge. Log off for a while, a couple days if at all possible. If you cannot do that, turn off notifications and periodically check in for no more than 3 to 5 minutes at a time. Minimizing exposure helps to remain at a minimum level of stimulus. Walking barefoot in the grass is a great grounding activity, the electromagnetic field of the Earth can be felt within the body. So, kick off your shoes and socks and take a stroll through the grass in your yard or neighborhood park. Imagine all the feelings of chaos, confusion and frustration flow into the ground at the soles of your feet like water going down a drain. Release that which doesn’t serve you, then replenish yourself with affirmations or journaling or talking to a trusted friend or even your pet to bring you back into a positive headspace.

These small but beneficial actions can help you maintain your sh*t when everyone else seems to be losing theirs.

With Love,

Lauren
